아녜스 바르다와 JR, 영혼을 교감하는 이 둘은 이미지를 창조, 전시, 공유할 방법을 고심하며 평생토록 열정을 다해왔다. JR의 카메라 트럭에 몸을 싣고 프랑스의 마을마다 주민들의 사연을 들으며 작업한 방대한 규모의 인물 사진들은 집 위로, 농장 위로, 가게와 기차 위로 전시된다. 그렇게 사진은 대상이 품고 있던 인간성과 사진으로서 자신의 존재를 드러낸다.
