마리사 토메이를 빼고는 그닥 우리나라에는 잘 알려지지 않은 배우들이 나온다. 감독은 [온리 유]에서 마리사 토메이의 오빠 역으로 출연했던, 약간은 만화 같은 마스크를 가진 피셔 스티븐스인데 이 영화가 감독 데뷰작이다. 그가 만드는 영화는 전위적이라는 이야기를 듣는다는데 이 영화를 보면 이유를 알 수 있다. 장면장면에 영화의 실사 장면을 애니메이션화 하는 로토메이션 기법이 사용돼 한층 더 특이한 느낌의 영화가 되었다. CF 감독인 닥에게는 자신의 CF에 단골로 출연하는 피터라는 친구와, 바에서 위기에 빠진 자신을 재치 있게 구해 줘 인연이 된 할리라는 연인이 있다. 피터는 무용 연습실에서 만난 프로댄서, 레베카를 짝사랑한다. 레베카는 피터와 데이트를 하는 와중에도, 콜린이라는 아내가 있는 대학 동창 안드레와 친밀한 관계를 유지한다. 바가 붙어 있는 볼링장의 웨이트레스 폴라는 피터가 출연한 땅콩버터 광고를 세상에서 제일 좋아한다. 유로 디즈니의 CF 촬영 차 유럽으로 출장을 떠난 닥은 마침 순회공연을 하고 있던 레베카를 만나 하룻밤의 정사를 나누게 된다. 그저 둘 만의 비밀로 덮어질 줄 알았던 이 사건은 정서불안인 레베카의 고백으로 할리와 피터에게 알려지고, 이를 수습해가는 과정에서 안드레와 폴라, 그리고 콜린이 개입 돼 수 많은 사건이 벌어진다.
