Townswoman
1692년 청교도가 지배하는 메사추세츠 주 세일럼. 마을 어른들의 경건하고 도덕적인 생활에 짓눌려 있던 소녀들은 늦은 밤 숲속에서 벌거벗은 채 춤을 추며 악마의 의식을 거행하고 마을의 목사에게 이 현장을 목격 당하자, 악마의 강요로 춤을 추게 되었다고 거짓말을 한다.
에비가 주도한 거짓 증언으로 마을은 떠들썩해지고, 주민들은 마녀재판이라는 명목 아래 하나 둘 무고하게 희생당한다. 유부남인 존과 불륜에 빠진 에비는 존의 아내를 희생양으로 삼으려 하고, 존은 에비의 거짓을 밝히기 위해 위험을 무릅쓴다.
