미국인 에이미는 아일랜드에서 유학중이다. 항상 집에 불을 켜 둘 정도로 에이미는 어두운 곳을 싫어한다. 에이미는 어느 호텔에 야간 프런트 근무를 하게 되고, 그곳에서 사수인 아담을 만나게 된다. 아담은 예전 이 호텔에서 살인 사건이 있었다는 이야기를 들려주며 에이미를 놀린다. 서빙을 위해 5층에 올라가게 된 에이미는 그곳에서 기이한 일을 겪는데, 존재하지 않는 사람을 보는가 하면 아래층으로 아무리 내려가려고 해도 계속 5층을 맴돈다. 살인 사건이 일어났었던 호텔 5층에는 뭔가 저주가 걸려있는 것처럼 이곳에 오는 모두 이가 살아나가지 못하게 되는데...
