각 영화계에서 활동하고 있는 감독, 촬영감독, 제작자, 편집자들의 인터뷰를 담은 다큐멘터리 는 빠르게 디지털화 되어 가는 영화제작의 현실을 다룬다. 제작자이기도 한 할리우드 배우 키아누 리브스가 직접 영화계의 거장들을 인터뷰 하며 영화계의 혁명으로 불리는 ‘디지털 방식’에 대해 좀더 심층적인 관점으로 관객들에게 다가간다. 또한 35mm 필름과 디지털 방식이 서로 공존할 수 없는지에 대한 문제를 제시하면서 디지털화로 인해 무엇을 얻고 무엇을 잃었는지 그리고 장래의 영화 산업에 어떤 영향을 미칠 것에 대한 대안도 조심스럽게 제시 해본다. 영화 제작이나 감독 또는 촬영, 편집에 이르기 까지 영화제작에 종사 하고 싶은 영화과 학생들에겐 더 없이 좋은 참고자료가 될 작품이다. The BQE is a mixed-media artistic exploration of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway of New York City by Sufjan Stevens. A cinematic suite inspired by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and the Hula-Hoop, and commissioned by Brooklyn Academy of Music, it was originally performed in the Howard Gilman Opera House in celebration of the 25th anniversary Next Wave Festival in October of 2007.
