버닝맨 축제로 떠나는 버스에 우연히 올라탄 라라는 버스에 탄 손님들과 술을 마시며 즐거운 시간을 보낸다. 사막에서 잠시 버스가 멈춘 사이, 사람들은 밖으로 나가 바람을 쐬는데 갑자기 어디선가 괴한들이 나타나 사람들을 죽이기 시작한다. 가까스로 버스에 다시 올라탄 알렌, 워렌, 리스, 아이비, 피터, 라라는 버스에 갇혀 지옥 같은 곳을 빠져나갈 방법을 모색한다. 짐칸을 수색하던 알렌은 우연히 마주친 버스 운전기사를 잡아 버스 안에 태운다. 운전기사 조앤은 이상한 말을 늘어놓다가 라라가 ‘선택받은 자’라고 말하는데...
