200년 전 다트무어의 영주였던 휴고 바스커빌은 어린 여자 아이를 납치해 농락하지만 그 아이는 탈출해 도망치는 과정에서 사망하고 만다. 아이는 황소만큼 거대한 개를 보고 두려움에 사망하고 영주는 그 개에게 물려 사망한다. 그때부터 바스커빌가에는 저주가 내렸다고 믿어지고 집안의 모든 자손이 사고사한다. 그러다 최근 찰스 바스커빌이 사망하고 미국에서 살던 바스커빌의 마지막 자손인 헨리 바스커빌이 돌아온다. 그는 사냥개의 존재를 믿지 않고 그 저주의 실체를 밝히기 위해 홈즈와 왓슨의 도움을 받는데 우여곡절 끝에 알게된 사실은 바스커빌가에 또다른 자손이 남아있었고 그 자손이 어마어마한 재산을 혼자 차지하려고 꾸민 일이었다.

Charthurst Green, Kent, 1966. Pauline Cox accompanies Mike Robins to a village cricket match in which he is playing, but becomes bored and wanders away. She fetches up at the local railway station, where she is first entertained to tea by the garrulous, hunchbacked station master, then upset by the intrusion of the latter's assistant Ewen, who proceeds to kill a rabbit in her presence. Making her way back to the match, Pauline is waylaid by the simple-minded Ewen as she crosses an apple orchard; when his advances become violent, she tries to fight him off and he strangles her. The station master helps in covering up the murder, burying the corpse in the orchard.
Sovereign's Company is the story of a boy from an army family with a long tradition of honour and distinction, who goes to a military academy as an officer cadet and finds himself temperamentally unsuited to the life.
영국 교회가 로마 교회의 지배를 받던 시절, 토머스 모어(Sir Thomas More: 폴 스코필드 분)는 헨리 8세의 두터운 신임을 받고 있는 조력자이며 천주교에 대한 신앙심 또한 두터운 사람이다. 어느 날 헨리 8세가 이혼을 원하자, 모어는 왕의 이혼과 재혼을 승인하지 않는다. 그리고 헨리 8세(King Henry VIII: 로버트 쇼 분)가 스스로를 영국 천주교회의 수장으로 임명하려 하지만 모어는 이 또한 인정하지 않는다. 결국 모어는 리처드 리치의 모함을 받아 웨일스의 재판장에 서게 된다. 그곳에서 모어는 증인으로 소환되어 위증한 리처드 리치에게 "영혼을 파는 자는 세상을 다 얻어도 덧없는데, 고작 웨일즈 법무장관이라니"라며 "당신들이 내 피를 보려는 건 왕의 칭호 때문이 아니라 결혼을 승인하지 않았기 때문이요"라며 자신의 기독교와 도덕에 대한 신념을 굽히지 않는다. 그리고 그는 끝내 형장의 이슬로 사라져간다.
"토마스 모어의 머리는 한 달간 '반역자의 문'에 걸려있다가 딸 마가렛이 가져가서 자신이 죽을 때까지 보관했다. 크롬웰은 그후 5년 뒤에 대역죄로 목이 잘렸으며, 대주교는 화형 당했다. 노퍽 공작도 반역자로 처형될 예정이었으나 바로 전날 왕이 매독으로 사망한 바람에 목숨을 건졌다. 리차드 리치는 대법관이 됐고, 고령으로 사망했다."
