캐나다의 한 캠프장에서 20년전 야영했던 친구들이 다시 모인다. 아름다운 온타리오 주 알곤킨 주립공원내의 타마콰 캠프장에서 어른이 된 친구들은 오랜만의 해후를 반가워한다. 캠프장 주인이며 교관인 엉클 루(알란 아킨 분)가 20년 전 캠프장 전성시대의 야영 동창생을 불러 마지막 여름을 함께 나누려고 한 것. 그 때의 인연으로 결혼하게 된 켈리(줄리 와너 분)와 매튜(빈센트 스파노 분), 사업으로 성공한 매튜의 사촌 브래드(케빈 폴락 분), 독신인 제니퍼(엘리자베스 퍼킨스 분), 교통사고로 남편을 잃은 베스(다이안 레인 분), 플레이보이처럼 인생을 즐기는 제이미(맷 크레이븐 분)와 그의 젊은 약혼녀 그웬(킴벌리 윌리암스 분), 20년 전 말썽을 피워 캠프장에서 쫓겨난 잭(빌 팩스톤 분)이 다시 만나 추억을 되살리며 캠프장이 문을 닫게 된 것을 아쉬워한다. 며칠이 지나자 부부간의 문제, 약혼자끼리의 문제, 여자들 사이의 질투 등 문제가 생기기 시작한다. 엉클 루는 노련하게 젊은이들이 고민과 문제를 푸는 것을 도와준다. 예정된 일주일이 끝날 무렵 문제는 해소되고 서로 더 잘 이해하고 성숙해진 어른 야영객들이 떠나자, 루는 새로 맺어진 잭과 베스 한 쌍에게 캠프장을 넘겨준다. 캠프장은 문을 닫지 않게 된 것이다.
