Single mother Maria falls from the clouds when the police come: She does not believe for a second that her son, Matis could have killed the pretty Lea from next door. He is in his early 20s, but still thinks and feels like a child - right? After his arrest, Simon finds a sex booklet belongs to him that the bus driver Bacher sold him. Matis actually makes a confession, to which, however, the psychologist Benjamin doubts. In the meantime, mother Maria is investigating on her own. The thriller gradually increases its level and excitement.

Wagner is a cop, a man who doesn't talk much, unlike Zippolt, the guy he has to sit in the car with. Both men are ordered to give close protection to Siegfried, a suspected murderer. Wagner lives in an old fashioned apartment, he counts birds, listens to Richard Wagner's operas, sees a lot, does little, meets a woman, gets entangled - and in the end he loses his countenance. A story about good-wanting and wrong-doing, about relationships and people in contemporary Berlin.

2차 세계대전 직전, 유태인 변호사인 발터와 그의 아름다운 아내 예텔, 그리고 5살의 귀여운 딸 레기나는 전쟁의 소용돌이를 피해 불안한 여행길에 올라 아프리카 케냐에 정착한다. 독일에선 지식인 부유층으로 여유로운 생활을 했던 예텔은 아프리카의 여느 흑인들과 다를 바 없는 농민 신분이 되자 불만이 쌓이고 결국 발터와 갈등을 일으킨다. 그러나 딸 레기나는 호기심 어린 눈으로 아프리카에 호감을 가지며 흑인 요리사 오부워와 우정을 나눈다. 그러던 중 예텔과 갈등이 심해진 발터는 연합군으로 참전하고 예텔은 혼자 힘으로 농장을 경영해 나간다. 만남, 이별, 재회… 아름다운 자연에서 펼쳐지는 순수한 감동 이후 홀로 농장을 경영하는 예텔은 시간이 지날수록 끔찍히 싫어했던 아프리카의 아름다운 자연과 순수한 원주민들을 사랑하게 된다. 어느새 훌쩍 커버린 레기나는 원주민들과 서슴없이 어울리며 자연에 동화되고 학교에 진학해 똑똑하고 모범적인 소녀가 된다. 연합군의 승리로 사랑하는 가족과 재회한 발터는 새로운 지식인의 삶을 위해 독일로의 귀향을 원한다. 그러나 아프리카에 정이 듬뿍 든 예텔은 그의 제안을 거절하고 오부워와 헤어지기 싫은 레기나 또한 독일행을 망설이는데…

The movie's plot is based on the true story of a group of young computer hackers from Hannover, Germany. In the late 1980s the orphaned Karl Koch invests his heritage in a flat and a home computer. At first he dials up to bulletin boards to discuss conspiracy theories inspired by his favorite novel, R.A. Wilson's "Illuminatus", but soon he and his friend David start breaking into government and military computers. Pepe, one of Karl's rather criminal acquaintances senses that there is money in computer cracking - he travels to east Berlin and tries to contact the KGB.
