독서모임을 즐기는 평범한 주부 제니퍼 바렛. 독서모임을 끝내고 집으로 돌아오던 그녀는 집 근처에서 총소리가 나자 집에 강도가 든 줄로만 알고 총을 들고 집으로 들어가지만 그녀가 목격한 것은 남편의 외도장면, 상대는 아까 모임에서 빠져나간 그녀의 절친한 친구. 화가 난 그녀는 남편과 그의 정부를 내쫓는다. 한편 자신이 들었던 총소리가 유명한 마피아 두목인 안젤로가 살해되는 소리였음을 뉴스를 통해 알게된 그녀는 살해된 안젤로가 어릴 적 그녀가 살던 집 근처에서 식료품점을 운영했다는 사실을 기억해낸다. 그때, 안젤로의 식료품점 종업원이었던 프랭키가 그녀의 집으로 갑작스레 들이닥친다. 상처 입은 그는 그녀에게 마피아간에 얽혀있는 원한 관계를 설명하는 DVD를 틀어주고, 안젤로를 죽인 말레스테스타가 안젤로의 딸도 죽이려 한다는 내용도 알려준다. 또한 제니퍼는 프랭키에게 자신이 안젤로의 딸이며, 안젤로가 말레스테스타로부터 그녀를 보호하기 위해 어린 그녀를 다른 가정으로 위장 입양시켰다는 사실을 전해 듣는다. 이후로 제니퍼에겐 그녀를 위협하는 이상한 일들이 벌어진다. 자신의 존재를 부인하던 제니퍼는 위험을 피하느니 복수를 하겠다고 다짐한다.

애인을 찾아 미국에서 로마에 온 노처녀 피비(Phoebe: 숀 영 분)은 우연히 강아지 한마리를 발견한다. 신문에서 그 강아지가 몬데 칼로의 귀부인의 것임을 알고 근처에서 만난 줄리안(Julian Peters: 리차드 루이스 분)과 현상금을 타기위해 몬테 칼로로 향한다. 귀부인의 저택에 도착한 두 사람은 차고 앞에서 여자 시체의 손을 발견하고 질겁해서 도망을 친다. 피비는 놀란 나머지 가방을 차고 앞에 두고 나오는데 바로 이 가방에 시체가 담겨져 또 다른 관광객의 손에 들어가게 된다. 카지노에서 여행 경비마저 모두 날리고 아내가 있는 호텔로 돌아가지도 못하는 닐(Neil Schwary: 제임스 벨루시 분)은 거리에서 가방 하나를 줍게 된다. 그것을 하늘이 내린 기적의 돈 가방으로 알고 호텔로 가져와 보니 여자의 토막시체가 들어있다. 결국 아내(Marilyn Schwary: 시빌 쉐퍼드 분)와 시체가 든 가방을 버리기 위해 기차를 탔다가 세관원에게 적발돼 살인용의자로 체포된다. 또 한 명의 노름꾼 오기(Augie Morosco: 존 캔디 분)는 줄리안에게서 강아지를 사려고 성냥갑에 연락처를 적어준 것이 화근이 되어 역시 살인 사건 연루자로 연행된다. 귀부인의 애인인 알퐁소(Alfonso De la Pena: 죠지 해밀턴 분) 역시 사건 당일 저택에 들렀다가 살인혐의를 받고 체포되지만...

Bud Spencer plays Banana Joe, a brawny yet friendly man who lives in a small rainforest village called Amantido with a huge number of his own children and regularly delivers bananas to a South American river port (hence his name). One day, the henchmen of a local gangster boss named Torsillo come ashore in Amantido to initiate the construction a banana processing plant. Of course, Joe (in typical direct-approach manner) evicts the goons, who promptly return to their boss. Torsillo finds out that Joe is trading bananas without a license and decides to exploit it. Upon his next delivery, Joe is apprehended by the police and given the choice of either acquiring a legal license or getting his boat taken away and himself arrested for illegal shipment. Joe travels to the nearest city, which to him is a new world, as he grew up in the rainforest.
