성실한 대학교수 부인 오선영은 화교회라는 모임에 나가면서 춤바람이 난다. 선영의 탈선행위는 아들과 장교수의 행색을 초라하게 하고 이를 눈치 챈 은미는 교수를 동정한다. 자신의 잘못은 반성하지 않고 오히려 선영은 은미와 장교수의 관계를 의심해 장교수를 추궁한다. 선영의 탈선은 계속되어 외간 남자와 호텔까지 가지만 정신을 차리고 집으로 돌아온다. 모든 것을 알고 있는 장교수는 대문을 걸어 잠그지만...
