Meanwhile, his friend Santiago has a blind date with Verónica that ends after a few seconds. Verónica's neighbor is in a secret and quite toxic relationship.

Mateo, an ex convict anarchist, travels around the Pampa in his old truck, carrying stolen hens and the illusion of finding his lost rooster, The King, which, he hopes, will lead him to glory at the cockfights. Fate faces him with Aurelia and Carmelo, two siblings in search for their father. Wandering, uncertain about his final destination, Mateo decides to give them a ride southbound.

A surgeon from Buenos Aires, wearied by personal problems and the endless cycle of work, leaves for a week's skiing vacation in the south. Instead, on impulse, he follows a young hitchhiker to a small fishing village, Devil's Point, in the north, on the coast of Uruguay. He makes fleeting acquaintance with some of the villagers, and learns that "the only thing to do in winter is to wait for summer".
