낭만적인 성격의 소유자인 짐은 모험을 즐기는 용감한 청년이다. 이런 짐 앞에 우연히 전설적인 해적 플린트 선장의 비밀스런 보물지도가 손아귀에 들어온다. 이 오래된 지도는 플린트 선장이 숨겨둔 보물을 찾을 수 있는 길이 표시돼 있는데, 정작 보물은 대양에서 사라진 한 섬에 숨겨져 있다. 무모해 보이지만 짐과 친구들은 한번 시도해 보기로 하고, 아름다운 배에 몸을 싣고 항해에 나선다. 하지만 그들이 타고 있던 배에는 해적들도 함께 승선해 있는데, 알고 보니 옛 플린트 선장의 수하들이다.
