제2차 세계대전 중 히틀러는 나찌의 최고 그룹이며 정치-군사-과학 분야의 리더격인 터미네이트를 터키로 보내기로 한다. 그곳에다 제4의 독일을 건설하고자 하는 것. 정보를 입수한 연합군은 라이트 소령에게 새독일 정부방해작전을 지시한다. 소령은 즉시 군수용소에 있는 12명의 사형수와 무기징역수를 선발하여 특별 훈련을 시킨 후 터미네이트를 실은 특급 열차에 침투시킨다. 포기했던 목숨을 되찾으려는 사형수의 극한 불능과 독일 최정예집단의 명예가 맞붙은 오리엔드 특급. 가공할 격전이 유고에서 발칸까지 계속된다.
