Cutting The Line follows husband and wife team, Naude and Katja Dreyer, and their three children as they embark on a mission to rescue seals entangled in deadly plastic pollution along the Namibian coastline. What begins as a few spur-of-the-moment rescues quickly evolves into a unique environmental organization that finds itself pitted against a mounting global crisis.

남아프리카 치치카마의 원시림에서 산림 감시원 가비와 윈스턴은 감시 영상 촬영을 위해 설치한 카메라를 확인하고 있다. 잠시 후 누군가에 의해 드론이 숲 속에 추락하고 가비는 위험하다는 윈스턴의 경고를 무시하고 드론을 찾아 숲 속으로 들어간다. 드론을 찾던 중 울창한 숲 속에서 길을 잃고 헤매던 가비는 바렌트와 스테판이 설치한 덫에 걸려 발을 크게 다친다. 그리고 낡은 오두막에서 원시적인 삶을 살고 있는 바렌트와 그의 10대 아들 스테판을 만난다. 바렌트는 가비를 치료해 주고 창조와 파괴의 어머니인 가이아에게 감사 기도를 드린 뒤 애벌레 등의 식사를 제공한다. 한편 가비를 찾던 윈스턴은 한 번도 본 적 없는 미지의 괴물과 마주친다. 반인 반 버섯의 얼굴을 한 괴물을 피해 달아나던 윈스턴은 곰팡이 포자에 사로 잡히고 잠시 후 그의 얼굴과 몸에서 버섯이 자라기 시작한다. 바렌트는 아픈 아내 릴리와 함께 숲 속에 들어와 스테판을 낳았으며 가이아를 만나게 되었다고 가비에게 말한다. 그날 밤, 바렌트의 오두막에 눈이 없는 버섯 괴물이 나타나고 바렌트는 인류 이전의 존재가 곰팡이 포자를 퍼트릴 준비를 하고 있다고 이야기한다. 그 후 가비가 휴대폰 사진을 스테판에게 보여주자 바렌트는 혐오스러운 악마 같은 기계라고 소리치며 가비의 휴대폰을 던져 버린다. 다음 날, 바렌트의 안내로 숲을 빠져나가던 가비는 산 채로 얼굴과 몸에서 버섯과 포자가 자라고 있는 윈스턴을 발견한다. 윈스턴은 고통스러워하며 가비에게 죽여 달라고 부탁하는데...

Lesedi lives in an isolated town and spends her days throwing stones at cars passing through and hoping for something to happen. Unexpectedly, a car breaks down leading her to fear that she is responsible. Still, a transient connection is formed between Lesedi and the reluctant visitor.
