Karen Kubeck
약력
Karen Kubeck is an American makeup artist who also does special effects makeup as well as hair styling. Her career has spanned more than 35 years.
Some of her credits include work for Disney’s “Splash” (designed Daryl Hannah’s underwater body makeup), Full House, Matlock, ABC’s Extreme Makeover with Dr. Ava Shamban, 3 cycles of America’s Next Top Model, and two seasons of Betrayed for Discovery ID. She has worked on many music videos with music icons Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Roger Waters, Jackson Browne, and The Pointer Sister's, to name a few. She also worked on several webisodes series including First the Series and 20 Seconds to Live.
In 1996, she founded “Karen Kubeck Makeup and Skincare Salon” in Santa Monica, California, which serves a global clientele specializing in eyebrow design, makeup & skin care. Her clients have coined her the “Eyebrow Whisperer”.
On December 4th, 2020, she was interviewed by Tommy Kovac on his podcast "Splat from the Past" about the iconic movies she worked on in the 80's.

고등학교 졸업을 하고 공군사관학교에 지원을 했다가 떨어진 18세의 청년 더그(Doug Masters: 제이슨 게드릭 분)는 훈련 중 아랍군에게 인질로 잡힌 아버지, 테드 매스터즈 대령(Ted: 팀 토머슨 분)을 구하기 위해 적지에 뛰어들기로 결심한다. 더그는 채피 대령(Chappy: 루이스 고셋 주니어 분)을 찾아가서 독수리 클럽애들이 모아온 정보망과, 평소에 수업을 빼먹으며 틈틈히 익혀둔 비행실력을 선보이며 구출 작전 계획을 부탁한다. 처음에는 시큰둥하던 채피 대령은 테드 대령에게 3일후 처령이란 판결이 내려지자, 더그와 함께 직접 적지에 뛰어들 것을 결심한다. 적지로 향하던 중, 적군측의 눈에 띄어 공격을 받은 채피 대령은 자신에게 불상사가 일어날 경우를 대비해서 미리 상황별로 지시를 녹음해 둔 테이프를 틀을 것을 마지막으로 명령하고 추락하고 만다. 녹음된 채피대령의 지시를 들으며 적지 한가운데로 들어가 아버지를 극적으로 구출해서 무사히 귀환한 더그는 뜻밖에도 채피대령의 환영을 받는다. 지중해에 추락한 것을 지나가던 이집트 어선이 구해준 것. 이들은 국가보안법 위반으로 군법재판에 회부되지만 정상을 참작하여, 이번 작전에 대해 침묵을 지킨다는 것을 전제로 조건부석방이 내려진다.
