코코(이렌느 카라)를 비롯한 예술 고등학교의 학생들은 뚜렷한 목표의식 없이 그저 화려한 스타의 모습을 동경한다. 코코도 스타가 되기 위해 노력하지만 생각처럼 쉽게 인기를 얻지 못한다. 하지만 꿈을 버리지 않고 재능을 발휘하는 노력을 계속한다. 그러면서 학생들은 목표를 찾는다. 화려한 무대 뒤에 감추어진 젊은이들의 숨은 노력과 땀으로 이룬 결실을 보여주는 영화이다.
