생활 설계사인 엄마와 단둘이 사는 순정은 여느 사춘기 여고생처럼 집과 학교에 불만이 가득한 18살 청춘이다. 특히, 엄마에 대한 불만이 가득해 고등학교만 졸업하면 광활한 아프리카에서 살고 싶어 스와힐리어를 공부하는 중이다. 그래서 일찌감치 편의점 아르바이트도 시작하는데 이런 순정의 계획에 차질이 생긴 건 다름 아닌 새로운 담임 선생 희주 때문이다. 순정의 담임인 희주는 순정의 학교에 발령받자마자 아이들에게 반장과 사물함을 일주일마다 돌아가면서 사용하게 하고, 핸드폰도 걸리지만 않으면 알아서 사용하라는 등 다른 선생과들 차이가 있는 파격적인 제안으로 단번에 아이들의 호응을 얻는다. 과연 순정은 질풍노도의 열여덟을 무사히 넘길 수 있을까?
