워커홀릭이자 성공한 영화 제작자인 남편 마이클(알렉 볼드윈)과 함께 영화의 도시 칸에 온 앤(다이안 레인). 휴가라고 칸에 왔지만 남편은 업무상 스케줄로 바쁘고, 그녀는 호텔에서 시켜먹은 식사조차 남편의 눈치를 봐야 하는 처지이다. 컨디션 난조로 인해 마이클의 다음 출장지인 부다페스트 일정을 건너뛰고 곧장 파리로 가기로 한 앤. 그러자 마이클의 사업 파트너인 자크(아르노 비야르)는 앤을 파리까지 데려다주기로 자청하고, 원칙주의자 앤의 파리행 여정은 남편과는 달라도 너무 다른 프랑스 남자 자크로 인해 대책 없이 낭만 가득한 프렌치 로드 트립이 되어버린다.

The musical begins with the story of Georges and his model and lover Dot.
