Based on a book by horror novelist Nick Cutter (born Craig Davidson), with a screenplay co-penned by Cutter and Ian Weir, “The Breach” centers on John Hawkins, who is set to retire from his post as police chief of the small town of Lone Crow that is tucked away in the deep woods of northern Ontario. But following the discovery of a gruesome body with uncanny injuries, he’s pulled into an investigation to solve the horrifying mystery, which evades explanation.
캐나다 온타리오주의 원주민 마을 무소니에는 엄마(애니 버드), 삼촌(윌), 쌍둥이 자매(수잔, 애니) 가족이 살고 있다. 어느 날 경찰이 찾아와 몇 해 전 남자 친구 거스와 함께 집을 나간 수잔이 토론토에서 실종됐다는 소식을 전한다. 애니는 내키지 않았지만 수잔을 찾아나서고 그 과정에서 수잔이 토론토에서 어떻게 살았는지 하나하나 알아가게 되는데... 수잔은 모델로 나름 성공했으나 약물 중독이었고 돈 관리가 형편없었다. 그러다 남자친구 거스와 함께 마약상 대니의 마약을 다량 훔쳐 달아났고 그로 인해 범죄 조직의 표적이 되었던 것이다. 결국 마약상이 수잔을 잡기 위해 애니의 집을 찾아간다.
Mavis Dogblood is a Mohawk painter from Canada haunted by the tragic death of her husband, who was hit by lightning. She paints the stories he used to tell her, but she can’t come to grips with her loss. It is only after she drives to New York City for an art opening, traveling across what were her ancestors’ tribal lands, that Mavis reconciles herself to her new life.
