1945년 4월, 전쟁이 막 끝나갈 즈음 젊은 병사 헤롤트는 탈영을 하다 걸려 총살당할 위기를 간신히 모면한다. 전쟁은 끝나가지만 후방의 군기는 망가질 대로 망가져 온갖 약탈과 범죄를 일삼고 있던 상황. 낮에는 숲에서 쉬고 밤에는 농가에 몰래 숨어들어 먹을 걸 훔치다 걸리면 바로 처형되는 위기 속에서 우연히 나치 간부의 군복을 발견한다. 한 벌의 군복으로 가짜지만 대위가 된 헤롤트는 히틀러의 직속 명령이라는 거짓 임무를 내세워 헤롤트 기동 부대를 만들어 권력을 키워간다. 어느새 헤롤트는 탈영병으로 쫓기던 신세에서 자신을 쫓던 나치 장교와 같은 괴물로 변해가기 시작하는데...

다프나와 마이클 부부의 방문을 누군가 두드린다. 군인들이 다프나에게 아들 조나단이 군복무 중 사망했다는 소식을 전한다. 애도와 위로 속에 치러지는 장례식. 부모들은 좌절하고 죽음의 내력이 점차적으로 밝혀진다. (2018년 제19회 전주국제영화제)

William Wolff is nearly 90 and perhaps the most unconventional rabbi in the world. As the State Rabbi of North-East Germany, he looks after the Jewish Communities in Schwerin and Rostock, but still lives in a bungalow near Henley-on-Thames. Midweek he usually flies from Heathrow to Germany. After the services on Saturdays, he either makes his way home or on a leisure city trip. His annual highlight is betting at the Horse Race of Royal Ascot and joining a fasting-retreat in Bad Pyrmont. Willy Wolff leads a Jet-Set-Life, which he actually cannot afford, but dealing with money isn't one of his strengths. Naturally, that occasionally leads to quite temporal conflicts. Rabbi Wolff is the portrait of a fascinating character, a deeply religious man who, blessed with a tremendous joie de vivre, defies all conventions. More than that, it gives insight into the world of Judaism and introduces us to a uniquely German biography.

오토(브렌단 글린슨)와 안나(엠마 톰슨) 부부는 군에 입대한 외아들이 전사했다는 소식을 듣고 절망한다. 그 이후 그들이 선택한 행동은 나치와 전쟁에 대한 반대이다. 두 사람은 나치에 맞서 싸워야 한다는 내용을 담은 우편엽서를 공공장소에 놓고 오는 방식으로 저항의 씨앗을 퍼뜨리려고 한다. 나치의 비밀경찰 게쉬타포는 이 사건을 이데올로기를 따지지 않는 노련한 형사 에스체리치(다니엘 브륄)에게 맡긴다. 하지만 엽서가 200장이 넘어가도록 에스체리치는 범인을 잡지 못하고 당국자들에게 두드려맞는 수모까지 당한다. 그러나 오토의 치명적 실수가 에스체리치를 기다리고 있는데...

Tom does not have it easy. At the student theater, his friend Jan and his beloved Annelie play the leading roles; the inconspicuous Tom, on the other hand, makes the prop. When he realizes that he must finally take his life, and especially love, into his own hands, he turns to his janitor, Mr Müller. What Tom does not know: Müller was once a psychologist of the Stasi! In the so-called "Romeo" program, he prepared male agents to address women in Germany and make them available as a source.
