인간을 위협하는 '프릭스'의 출현으로 공포에 빠진 도시. 불안에 휩싸인 아빠 ‘헨리’(에밀허쉬)는 7살 딸 ‘클로이’(렉시콜커)를 안전하게 지킨다며 밀폐된 집에서 철저히 외부와 차단시킨다. 클로이는 바깥 세상이 궁금하지만 아빠는 꼭꼭 숨어 있지 않으면 놈들이 우리를 죽일 꺼라고 겁을 준다. 어느 날, 신비한 음악소리와 함께 아이스크림 트럭이 집 앞에 나타나고, 아이스크림이 너무 먹고 싶은 클로이는두려움과 설레임을 안고 아빠 몰래 문 밖을 나선다. 어딘지 수상한 분위기의 '미스터 스노우콘'(브루스 던)은자신과 함께 있으면 안전하다면서 클로이를안심시키는데… 세상이 정말 위험한 걸까? 아니면 아빠가 이상한 걸까?

‘페어베일’이라는 조용하고 작은 마을에서 세 남자가 이름 모를 괴한의 총에 맞아 사망하는 살인사건이 발생한다. ‘스위트 버지니아’라는 모텔을 운영하는 과거 로데오 스타 ‘샘’. 어느 날, 모텔의 투숙객으로 들어온 ‘엘우드’. 살인사건으로 남편을 잃고 한 순간에 미망인이 된 ‘버니’와 ‘라일라’. 오랜 내연 관계였던 ‘샘’과 ‘버니’는 이번 사건으로 괴로워하고 남편을 죽이고 돈을 챙기려 살인청부업자 ‘엘우드’를 고용했던 ‘라일라’는 일이 틀어져 돈을 줄 수 없게 되자 ‘엘우드’의 협박을 받게 된다. 점점 목을 조여오는 ‘엘우드’의 압박에 ‘라일라’는 또 다른 거래를 제안하며 ‘버니’를 이용하려 한다. ‘페어베일 바 살인사건’을 둘러싼 네 사람의 관계, 그리고 위험한 거래 속에서 상황은 더욱 극단적으로 흘러가는데…

Miriam fights back: she talks to the media, saying her new line of work empowers her as a feminist. But her confident stand has unintended consequences. Miriam is shunned by her conservative family and her colleagues in the adult film world. One impulsive decision has quickly spiralled out of control - and Miriam's problems are just beginning.
