결혼 35주년 파티 준비에 한창이던 메레디스는 HIV 검사에서 양성 판정을 받고 충격에 휩싸인다. 남편 앙드레로부터 감염된 것이 확실한 상황에서, 그녀는 남편이 성매매 여성과 부적절한 관계를 맺었음을 알게 된다. 검사 결과를 들이대며 남편에게 따진 후, 그를 집 밖으로 쫓아내긴 했지만, 평생을 가족을 돌보며 살았던 메레디스에게 혼자가 된다는 것은 견디기 힘든 일이다. 한바탕 싸움을 벌인 후, 그녀는 결국 남편을 다시 받아들이기로 한다. 마찬가지로 HIV 양성 판정을 받은 앙드레와 함께 세상의 손가락질을 견디며 병마에 맞서 싸우기로 결심한 것이다.
Isi doesn't get the world anymore. Just a short while ago, life was wild, fun, and without obligations, but suddenly everyone around her seems to be grown-up and successful. With her diploma in one hand and a drink in the other, she is stuck between the careless days of college and real life. When her best friend Lotte gets a respectable job and becomes pregnant, Isi realizes that she needs to find a way to start living a life on her own.
Between 1933 and 1945 roughly 1200 films were made in Germany, of which 300 were banned by the Allied forces. Today, around 40 films, called "Vorbehaltsfilme", are locked away from the public with an uncertain future. Should they be re-released, destroyed, or continue to be neglected?
