아름다운 젊은 연인 리사와 샘이 빈 집에 들어가 뜨거운 사랑을 나눈다. 그리고 샘은 리사의 아름다운 몸을 스케치한다. 행복에 젖은 두 사람, 다시 오토바이를 타고 질주한다. 그로부터 3년 후, 부부인 샘와 리사. 그러나 사고로 걸을 수 없게 된 샘은 휠체어를 탄 처지가 되고 매일 술로 시간을 보낸다. 그의 사고 문제로 오랫동안 소송을 끌어오던 리사도 지쳐있는 상태. 한편 소송문제를 맡고 있는 변호사 스티븐은 리사에게 호감을 느끼고 그녀에게 보석 상자를 선물로 준다. 그만 리사가 잘못해 보석 상자를 떨어뜨리는데 그 안에서 붉은 보석이 나온다. 이상한 힘을 느낀 리사는 선물을 스티븐에게 돌려주고 집으로 돌아온다. 그날 밤, 스티븐은 이상한 소리를 듣는다. 바로 그 보석에서 깨어 나온 악령, 지니. 그는 스티븐을 잔혹하게 죽이고 그의 얼굴로 위장한다. 이제 그는 자신을 깨운 리사를 찾아가 그녀의 세 가지 소원을 들어주어야 한다. 그러면 모든 악령들이 깨어날 것이다. 아침 일찍 리사의 집을 찾아 간 스티븐. 그러나 샘은 스티븐을 못마땅해 한다. 변호사 사무실로 간 리사에게 스티븐은 소원이 뭐냐고 묻고, 리사는 아무 생각 없이 소송이 잘 해결되었으면 좋겠다고 이야기한다. 그 자리에서 상대 회사 사장에게 전화를 건 스티븐. 그 회사 사장은 스티븐이 하라는 대로 움직이며 결국 거액의 합의서에 서명하고 스스로 자해하며 목숨을 끊는다. 아무것도 모르는 채 축하파티를 위해 저녁을 먹으러 간 리사. 그 자리에서 스티븐은 또 소원을 묻고 리사는 샘이 다시 걸을 수 있었으면 좋겠다고 이야기한다. 그 시간, 집에 있던 샘은 갑자기 다리에 극심한 통증을 느끼며 고통스러워하다가 두 다리로 걸을 수 있게 된다. 집으로 돌아온 리사는 샘을 보고 기뻐하지만 오랫동안 서먹했던 둘 사이는 회복되지 않는다.

His father, Brit-stuffy Sir John Loring, has never approved of the marriage and, again, tries to break it up. Believing that a child will hold the marriage together, Mary suggests artificial insemination to Mark, who finally agrees to accompany her to a clinic in Switzerland. However, when she is again pregnant, Mark finds it impossible to reconcile himself to the situation and leaves her. Prompted by his father, Mark sues for divorce, accusing her of adultery. She contests the divorce and a trial concerns itself with whether or not artificial insemination is a question of adultery. The Catholic Church's National League of Decency placed this film on its Condemned" list.
