보수적이지만 딸들과 친구가 되기 위해 노력하는 현대 아버지의 모습을 발리우드 뮤지컬에 담은 영화. 영국에 살고 있는 인도인 라즈는 아내가 죽은 후 아름다운 세 딸과 함께 인도로 간다. 그는 말호트라의 부유한 친구에게 많은 의지를 하던 중 친구의 아들인 로닛과도 가깝게 지낸다. 로닛은 라즈의 딸 이샤를 만나자 첫 눈에 반하게 되고 둘은 사랑에 빠지게 된다. 로닛과 이샤는 이 사실을 라즈에게 말하지만, 라즈는 로닛이 다른 부유한 집안의 딸인 모니쉬카와 정략 결혼하기를 바라고 갈등은 커져 간다.
