어느 날 갑작스럽게 심장마비로 사망한 친구 ‘니키’에게서 의문의 초대 어플을 받게 되는 ‘앨리스’. ‘니키’의 친구였던 ‘코디’, ‘가빈’, ‘댄’, ‘헤일리’도 모두 초대를 받은 상황. 불길한 느낌이 들지만 습관처럼 다운로드하고 ‘비데블’ 어플을 실행하게 된다. 집 안의 전자 기기 제어 및 대화 나누기 등 신기할 정도로 놀라운 기술력을 선보이는 어플, ‘비데블’. 하지만 ‘앨리스’는 어느 순간부터 마음 깊은 곳에 숨겨져 있던 공포의 대상이 형상화되어 나타나는 초자연 현상에 시달리게 된다. ‘앨리스’ 외에 다른 친구들 역시 같은 공포를 느끼고 있고, 그러던 중 ‘가빈’이 의문의 죽음을 당하게 된다. 죽음보다 더 한 공포가 서서히 ‘앨리스’에게도 다가오는데…
