The stars of the NBC musical drama series Smash reunite virtually for a special one-night-only streaming event featuring the never-seen sold-out live performance of Bombshell in Concert. The concert, with songs from the NBC series Smash, and reunion will benefit The Actors Fund, which has been helping artists in need amid the coronavirus crisis. The performance will be introduced by two-time Academy Award winner Renée Zellweger.

자기만의 스타일을 고집하는 저예산 영화 감독 닉(Nick Reve: 스티브 부세미 분)은 새로운 영화 한편을 찍기 위해 한창 싸움 중이다. 싸움의 대상은 자신의 영화에 츨연하는 배우들을 포함한 전 스탭. 촬영기사 울프(Wolf: 더못 멀로니 분)는 상한 우유를 마시고 화장실로 달려가 나올 줄을 모르고, 음향기사 레스는 화면의 구도하나 제대로 못 맞추고 마이크가 카메라에 잡히게 하는가 하면, 배우들은 대사를 까먹고 우왕좌왕한다. 그야말로 난장판이다. 하지만 닉은 단 한사람의 비위도 거스르지 않고 촬영을 순조릅게 마치기 위해 끓어오르는 분을 삭이며 이사람 저사람 달래기에 바쁘다. 그러나 누군가의 시계로부터 계속 들려오는 '삐' 소리는 그의 한계를 넘어서고 만다. 한꺼번에 터지는 닉의 스트레스. 그는 가슴에 쌓아놓았던 분을 일사천리로 쏟아놓는다. 장면은 바뀌어 닉의 침실. 그는 자신의 알람시계 소리에 잠을 깬다. 그리고 지금까지 이 모든 사건들이 그의 꿈속에서 일어났던 것임을 알게 된다. 그리고 서둘러 진짜 촬영준비에 들어간다. 그러나 현실에서도 그의 계획은 전혀 순조롭지가 않다. 이것저것 주문이 많은 입맛 까다로운 남자 주인공 채드(Chad Palomino: 제임스 레그로스 분) 때문. 자기 생각대로 전 스탭이 움직여주길 바라며 감독의 의도를 무시한채 10여회나 NG를 내게 만든 채드의 풍부한(?) 상상력에 닉은 자제력을 잃고 만다. 순식간에 스튜디오는 동네 싸움터로 변하고 결국 채드는 병원으로 실려간다. 다음은 닉이 가장 중요하게 생각하는 '꿈 씬'. 모든 준비가 완료되고 카메라가 돌아가기 시작한다.
