약력
Achim von Borries, born 1968 in Munich, studied History, Political Science and Philosophy from 1989 to 1993 at the Freie Universität Berlin. In 1992 he continued his studies at the German Film and Television Academy (dffb). Borries was highly praised for his impressive screen debut ENGLAND! (2000), which was also his graduating film at the dffb. ENGLAND! ran successfully at several festivals and won 15 international awards including two from the German Film Critics Award in 2002 (Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography for Jutta Pohlmann). It was followed by his second directorial feature film LOVE IN THOUGHTS starring August Diehl, Daniel Brühl and Anna Maria Mühe in the main roles, which celebrated its premiere at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in the USA in 2004.
Together with his sister Bettine he wrote the screen adaptations of the classic children’s books THE THREE ROBBERS, MULLEWAPP and LILLI THE WITCH. Achim von Borries has directed episodes of well-known German television series such as "Unter Verdacht" with Senta Berger. In 2010 for the 40th anniversary of the “Tatort” crime series, he directed the anniversary episode “Wie einst Lilly”, which also marked Ulrich Tukur’s debut as a “Tatort” police inspector.
Screenplay
오토(브렌단 글린슨)와 안나(엠마 톰슨) 부부는 군에 입대한 외아들이 전사했다는 소식을 듣고 절망한다. 그 이후 그들이 선택한 행동은 나치와 전쟁에 대한 반대이다. 두 사람은 나치에 맞서 싸워야 한다는 내용을 담은 우편엽서를 공공장소에 놓고 오는 방식으로 저항의 씨앗을 퍼뜨리려고 한다.
나치의 비밀경찰 게쉬타포는 이 사건을 이데올로기를 따지지 않는 노련한 형사 에스체리치(다니엘 브륄)에게 맡긴다. 하지만 엽서가 200장이 넘어가도록 에스체리치는 범인을 잡지 못하고 당국자들에게 두드려맞는 수모까지 당한다. 그러나 오토의 치명적 실수가 에스체리치를 기다리고 있는데...
Director
Alaska Johansson is the perfect woman and she is the best in her profession as a headhunter. One day she is fired by her boss, a married man who she has an affair with. He also tells her that their relationship has no future. She decides that her best option is to commit suicide with a poison cocktail. She is saved when a child in a Halloween costume enters her apartment demanding sweets. Something is not right about the child. Later her neighbor is going to tell here that there never was a child. Alaska’s world is turning upside down, her perceptions seem to be merely illusions. When her car starts to act on its own and causes a crash, she becomes convinced that someone is conspiring against her. Or is there another, darker secret in Alaska’s life?

A young couple moves to a gated community (named Sechzehneichen), where soon the creative wife (a photographer) gets bored and the husband joins a secret mens' club. All the other wives seem strangely conservative and shallow. Basically a thinly veiled take on the Stepford Wives, just without any bit of humor or atmosphere, but instead filled with the sterile, unflinching and dry seriousness that makes watching a lot of our German films such a drag and a miserable experience.

별 볼일 없는 삼류 배우 조니 마우저(쥐)는 또 다시 극단에서 쫓겨났다. 하루 아침에 직업을 잃은 그는 결국 도시를 떠나기로 결심하고, 아늑한 농장 마을 ‘물라밥’으로 향한다. 물라밥 농장 친구들은 이 작고 무례한 낯선 이의 방문에 잠시 놀란 듯 하지만, 곧 허풍쟁이 조니가 들려주는 환상적인 이야기에 흠뻑 빠지고 만다. 암컷들은 조니에게 잘 보이기 위해 앞다투어 뽐내기에 바쁘고, 물라밥 친구들은 더 이상 서로에 대한 관심이 없는 듯 하다. 어느 날, 마을의 소녀 클라우드(양)가 갑자기 사라지는 사건이 발생한다. 하루 아침에 마을의 영웅이 된 조니는 농장 친구들의 성화에 못이겨 그녀를 찾으러 나서야만 한다. 세 친구, 조니, 프란츠(수탉), 벨더마(돼지)는 클라우드를 찾기 위한 여행길에 오른다. 도대체 우리의 사랑스러운 클라우드는 어디로 갔을까?
