This story begins with Yana (Nia Harun), who has been forbidden to go camping by her father, Hendra (Eeng Saptahadi). However, Hendra gives in when he sees Yana painting a picture of her mother Laksmi (Eva Arnaz), whom Hendra has never spoken of to Yana. It turns out that Yana had gotten the photo from the family servant. At the camp, Yana meets Yani (Ade Harun), who turns out to be her twin. The two girls then switch identities because they both long to meet the parent they have been separated from. They also hope to find a way to reunite their mother and father, whom they believe still love each other, but split up because Laksmi could not endure the interference of in-laws

Iwan, a high school student, loses his bajaj-driver father because the jeep of Dance Lintang, a famous singer, runs him down. Iwan’s pregnant mother has to work hard. Iwan has been singing on the streets for money, and now he gets help from his younger siblings who sell newspapers. But his mother passes away when she gives birth to her last child so Iwan vows to raise his siblings. But when he cannot afford it, he puts his siblings in the orphanage. Then when his girlfriend Tia yells at him for doing that, he instinctively runs off with his siblings. He is imprisoned as a result but a journalist, Miftah, who knows his talent, bails him out. Iwan decides to quit school and Miftah manages to record him. Dance is furious when he hears that Iwan is making a record. He approaches the producer and destroys the recording tape. Then Dance gets arrested for narcotics while Iwan’s record is a major hit, so he brings his siblings home from the orphanage.

Three bachelors establish a service center for women, initially intended for sex, but instead it becomes a multi-purpose service agency. There is a grandmother who asks them to read comic books to her; there is also a woman who wants them to wash her carpets. But one of them always gets the most enjoyable part, which is the sex service for lonely women, or even to torture them by request. He also gets a girlfriend, who lives in Singapore, and accepts his profession.

Lestari stops teaching when she marries Rama who has returned from abroad. Lestari, who is an only child and an orphan, is infertile. Linda, eldest of the Mulyadi family, wants to continue her studies at a university in Yogya because she realises her potential. Her father approves this even though they are struggling financially as he is just a low-ranking staff in a bank. But her mother disapproves. Then her friend, Nancy, introduces her to Lukman, a playboy who likes her. Lukman becomes a bad influence and she is carried away by the lifestyle of the rich and forgets how hard her parents work to pay for her studies. The father drives a motorized rickshaw after work while her mother becomes a street vendor. One night, Linda and her friends are driving a car recklessly and hit the motorized rickshaw that her father drives. Linda’s friends run away while she stays to help her father. Suddenly, the scene changes to the school’s graduation where words of wisdom are given and Linda graduates thanks to her parents’ hard work.
