어린 여동생과 단 둘이 선전(深圳)에 사는 스무 살 ‘징하오’는 작은 핸드폰 수리점을 운영하며 여동생의 수술비 마련을 위해 고군분투하고 있다. 재능과 기술을 겸비했지만 삶은 팍팍하기만 하던 징하오에게 어느날 중고핸드폰 재고를 구매할 기회가 생긴다. 하지만 때마침 리퍼 핸드폰의 판매가 금지되는 바람에 기회를 날릴 위기에 처한다. 그러자 징하오는 본사에 직접 핸드폰 리퍼 사업을 제안해 도박 같은 기회를 얻어낸다. 작은 공장을 차리고 다양한 이유로 사회 변방에 밀려난 사람들과 팀을 이룬 징하오는 모두가 믿어주지 않았던 불가능에 가까운 그 일을 그 ‘바보 같은 사람’들로 팀을 이뤄 해낸다. 그리고 더 이상 도박이나 모험이 아닌 진짜 기회를 얻어낸다.

Adapted from the famous stage play of the same name, Devil And Angel (E Gun Tian Shi) follows Zha, played by Sun Li, a top student with a high IQ, who goes on a journey with Mo, played by famous Chinese comedy actor Deng Chao, a professional debt-collector and sometime hooligan, in order to face down her own neurosis, as well as cure Mo of his extreme insomnia.
