어른이 되기 직전인 10대 후반 소년들의 푸릇한 나날을 그리는 청춘영화다. 어릴 적부터 한 동네에서 자라 온 친구 쇼와 타이가는 고등학교에서의 마지막 해를 맞이한다. 두 친구는 마을 축제에서 북을 치는 2인조이기도 하다. 하지만 타이가는 대학 입시를 준비하기 위해 올해는 북을 치지 않겠다고 한다. 미래에 대한 아무런 생각이 없는 쇼는 머리가 복잡해진다.
