전쟁이 막바지에 접어든 1940년대 독일, 엄마 로지와 단둘이 살고 있는 10살 소년 조조는 독일 소년단에 입단한다. 상상 속 친구 히틀러의 응원에 힘입어 소년단 생활을 시작한 조조는 나약한 모습으로 단원 사이에서 놀림거리가 되고 만다. 설상가상으로 조조는 수류탄 사고까지 일으키며 얼굴과 다리에 부상을 입는다. 그렇게 히틀러의 멋진 경호원이 되겠다는 부푼 꿈이 물거품으로 돌아갈 때쯤, 조조는 자신의 집 벽장 안에 숨어 지내던 유대인 소녀 엘사와 마주치게 되는데...

Once a hugely popular clown trio, Oskar, Max, and Viktor are now living very different lives. The intense fight that ended their friendship has left them on bad terms for over 40 years. Max is battling colon cancer, Viktor's wife is losing a battle to Alzheimer's, and Oskar, who's never been the best dad, is trying to rescue his daughter from an abusive relationship. The good old days are gone indeed. Despite their situations, each one still tries to maintain a sense of humor. They look fondly on the days when they were slapstick superstars. 전투기 80여 대를 격추하며 연합군 조종사들의 간담을 서늘케 했던 독일 공군의 전설적인 영웅 붉은 남작(Red Baron) Manfred Von Richthofen의 실화를 다룬 영화. 1916년 1차 세계 대전이 한창인 프랑스 북부 연합군 지역의 한 장례식에 4대의 독일 전투기들이 날아들어 추모의 꽃다발을 떨어뜨리고 사라진다. 전략 결혼으로 얽히고 설킨 유럽 왕족과 귀족 사회에서 적이자 친구인 독일 조종사들이 전사한 영국 장교를 조문하려고 왔던 것. 문제의 4인 중 하나인 맨프레드 폰 리히트호펜 남작은 1차 대전 양 진영을 통틀어 가장 많은 격추 실력을 보였던 전설의 비행사였다. 그에게 있어 공중전은 영광스럽고 품위 있는 신사적인 스포츠 이벤트와 다름없었다. 그러나 우연히 만난 야전 간호사 케이트와 사랑에 빠지면서 전쟁의 잔혹성과 민중의 비참한 운명에 눈 뜬 그는 프로이센 제국에 의해 전쟁 선전 도구로 이용당하고 있는 자신에게 환멸을 느끼게 되고...

The year is 2062. The Earth is no longer inhabitable and has been left in ruins. On-board the space station USS Legacy in orbit around Earth, the Earth's population are in suspended animation whilst the space station is under military control and scientists are working on a project to make Earth inhabitable again. After disobeying orders, trying to apprehend a out-of-control soldier on a rampage, tough soldier Captain Cal Brody is sentenced by his commanding officer, Colonel Alexa Stant, to guard the stasis chamber where the Earth's population is in suspended animation for 3 months. But the USS Legacy is taken over by criminal Max Durbin and a group of escaped convicts, who have been freed by Alexa from the prison colony on Earth and Alexa decides to help them. Cal sets out to stop Max and Alexa's scheme and believes he is the only man who can stop Max, who plans to use Cal's scientist girlfriend Kendall Foster experiment to make the Earth inhabitable again...
