유독 보라색을 좋아하는 고3 유니는 대학입시를 준비하고 있다. 시골 어느 집이나 그렇듯 넉넉지 않은 집안 살림에 원하는 공부를 계속하기 위해서는 장학금을 받는 것이 중요하다. 마음에 드는 보라색 물건이 있으면 도둑질도 서슴지 않는 그녀는, 유일하게 어려워하는 과목인 문학 성적을 올리기 위해 자신을 짝사랑하는 친구에게 시쓰기 숙제를 부탁하기도 한다. 얼굴도 예쁘장하고 성적도 곧잘 나오는 유니를 눈여겨보는 남자들은 학교 밖에도 많고, 그녀가 졸업하기도 전에 청혼을 하기 시작한다. 그녀 주변에는 이미 결혼한 친구들도 있지만 자신이 원하는 것이 무엇인지는 아직 정확히 알 수 없다. 남자들의 청혼을 거절하자 작은 동네에는 안 좋은 소문이 돌기 시작한다.
