까르틱(실람바라산)은 기계공학을 전공하고 있지만 영화감독이 되고 싶어해서 친구가 영화 카메라감독에게 소개시켜준다. 힌두교 집안인 까르틱 식구는 잠시 제시(트리샤)의 집에 렌트를 하게 된다. 제시는 케렐라 출신으로 가족 모두가 천주교를 믿고 있다. 제시를 처음 만난 날 사랑에 빠진 까르틱은 그녀를 따라다니지만, 연상에다가 엄격한 아버지, 서로 다른 종교때문에 그녀는 까르틱을 밀어낸다. 어느날 자신의 마음을 주체할 수 없었던 까르틱은 제시에게 사랑을 고백하지만, 다음날 제시는 케렐라로 떠나버리고, 그녀를 영영 잃을 것만 같은 생각에 까르틱 역시 케렐라로 향하는데...
