일본 사회의 어두운 실상을 생생하게 드러내는 사회파 추리극. 교도소 간수인 다몬은 죄수들을 호송하는 임무를 담당하고 있다. 평소처럼 죄수들을 태운 버스를 타고 이동하던 중, 저격총을 든 무리들이 호송차를 습격해 죄수들이 사망하는 사건이 발생한다. 다몬은 다행히 목숨을 건지지만 6개월 정직을 당하고, 자신의 힘으로 이 사건을 조사하기로 한다.
