자폐증이 있는 광적인 영화팬 무스(존 트래볼타 역)는 액션 영웅 연예인인 헌터 던바(데본 사와 역)에 집착하는데, 던바를 만나 사인을 받을 기회가 있었지만 결국 속게 된다. 보상을 받아야 한다고 생각한 무스는 던바를 스토킹하는데 처음에는 행동에 악의가 없었지만 점차 잘못된 방향으로 흐르게 된다. 친구 레아(애나 골자 역)의 충고에도 불구하고 무스는 던바의 집을 찾아가기 시작하고 방문이 점차 잦아지면서 던바는 위험을 느끼기 시작하는데...
