로리는 대대로 살아오던 집을 압류당할 위기에 놓이고, 책을 출간해서 집을 지키기 위해 고군분투한다. 그러던 중, 책의 마지막 장을 완성하기 위해 남자친구 닉, 스펜서, 티나와 함께 오래된 별장으로 향한다. 별장은 초자연적 현상들이 발생하여 금기시되는 곳이었는데 책의 완성도를 위해 감행하고 그곳에서 사촌 사만다를 만난다. 별장의 숨겨진 방에서 위자보드를 찾은 로리는 게임을 시작하는데 알 수 없는 일들이 계속 발생한다.
