Mar dreams of being able to record the sound of whales, which appear in the Mediterranean only a few weeks a year, depending on circumstances such as the amount of rain and krill, the food on which the whales feed. A feature-length documentary film-in-progress chronicling the birth and development of LGBTQ comics through the eyes of several of its pioneers. The film was inspired by the Lambda award-winning book of the same name, and dives deeper into the personal stories at the heart of this unique underground artistic scene. Featuring Alison Bechdel (Fun Home), the recently departed Howard Cruse (Stuck Rubber Baby, Gay Comix), and others, this film aims to show how DIY queer cartoonists have represented, poked fun at, and celebrated LGBTQ lives and experiences in challenging, humorous, and profound ways.

These memories, like small bubbles begin with her birth in Marseille in 1949 and bring us to Antwerp, Paris, New York, England… to end in Flanders in 2015, after she gets out of the hospital. There Was A Little Ship is a filmic-biographical essay, sincere and poetic.

These images bear witness to the men and women who, in their indignancy, march towards their revolution. 50 years ago, as part of our ARC collective, we filmed the uprising of May and June 1968. Out of this material and scenes borrowed from our other filmmaker friends, we created this film.

A few sheep, some goats, and Chamelle, a dromedary, are their only riches. A tale of exodus, quest, hope and fatality.

밤의 어둠이 짙어지면서 집 밖에서 알 수 없는 소리가 들려온다. 과연 이 소리는 누가, 왜 보내는 것인가? 알 수 없는 기괴한 소리에 잠이 깬 클레멘타인은 루까를 깨우고 루까는 소리의 정체를 확인하기 위해 홀로 방을 나선다. 금방 돌아오겠다던 루까는 감감 무소식이고 불안한 마음에 잠궜던 방문 손잡이가 무섭게 돌아가기 시작한다. 잠시 후, 밖의 동태를 살피러 나갔던 루까는 다리에 상처를 입고 돌아오고 둘은 필사의 탈주를 감행한다. 한순간 이들을 급습한 공포의 정체는 과연 무엇일까? 마지막 궁지에 몰린 이들은 비로소 자신들을 공포로 몰아넣은 ‘그들’의 정체와 마주하고 더욱 큰 충격에 빠지게 되는데... 과연 ‘그들’은 누구이며 대체 ‘그들’이 원하는 것은 무엇인가?
