세번째 시리즈는 보톰즈 시리즈의 정체성을 잇는 내용으로 타카하시 료스케가 직접 연출을 맡았다. 히로인 피아나의 죽음이라는 충격적인 결말 속에 막을 내렸던 '빛나는 이단' 편 이후 세상을 떠도는 키리코와 '빛나는 이단'편에 이어 등장한 테이타니아, 그리고 바닐라와 코노나의 딸 스테비아 등이 등장하여 새로운 이야기를 이끌어 간다. 보톰즈 시리즈의 가장 마지막 시간대를 다룬 '환영' 편 이전의 키리코의 행적이 그려지고 있다.

장갑기병 보톰즈 시리즈의 외전격 작품. 감독 및 메카닉 디자인은 시게타 아츠시. 캐릭터 디자인과 캐릭터 작화감독은 하야마 준이치. CG 담당이 오모토 타츠키이다. 제작 당시만 해도 이들이 그렇게 유명하지 않았기 때문에 별로 주목을 못 받았으나 대단한 스태프가 만든 작품이며 상당한 액션과 작화를 보여주는 작품이다. 장갑기병 보톰즈 Case;IRVINE에 이어 보톰즈 페스티발의 두번째 단편작으로 어빈의 경우 일단 세계관만은 본편과 같은데 반해 보톰즈 파인더는 아예 세계관 자체가 보톰즈와 연관이 없어 보이는 페러렐 월드를 무대로 하고 있다. 우선 스코프 독이 등장하지 않고 흰개미라 불리는 거대 크리쳐가 몬스터 헌터를 연상케 한다. 주역메카는 알트로지만 알트로는 스코프독같은 개별 기종의 명칭이 아니라 AT를 통칭하는 명사로 쓰인다. 화기는 미사일과 유탄포뿐이고 체인, 와이어의 액션이 두드러진다. 줄거리는 깊고 거대한 협곡 밑에 고물상 노릇을 하며 살아가는 '보톰즈'와 그 협곡 위의 도시에서 사는 '톱'으로 계층이 분리돼있는 세계에서 흰개미를 상대로 싸우는 경비병으로 살고 있는 보톰즈 아키 테스노가 톱에서 찾아온 사람들의 안내 의뢰를 받아들이며 생기는 사건을 다루고 있다.

길가메스 출신의 제대군인 어빈이 낮에는 민간의 AT를 정비하는 기술자 밤에는 '더 다크'라는 링네임 으로 배틀링의 승부조작사로 활약한다. 그러던 어빈이 배틀링의 무서운 신인 패이건과 만나면서 이야기가 시작된다.

시리즈의 주인공 키리코 큐비는 사실상 '생존율 제로'인 전투에서 혼자 살아남게 되고 혹독한 부상을 입은 상태로 바로 다른 부대로 배속된다. 그곳은 바로 바코프 분대로 구성원간 공통점이라고는 전혀 찾아볼 수도 없는 콩가루 부대였다. 이후 바코프 분대는 '생존 확률이 제로에 가까운' 임무에만 연속으로 투입된다. 거기다 왠지 적군뿐만 아니라 아군까지 자신들을 죽이려고 안달내는 상황. 하지만 이 절망적인 상황에서도 키리코와 동료들은 힘을 합쳐 끝까지 살아남는다. 이런 말도 안되는 상황의 뒤에는 음모가 있었다. 사실 바코프 부대는 하나의 샘플이고 그들의 임무는 모두 실험이었다. 바코프 분대원들은 실은 요란 페일젠이 연구하던 '말도 안 될 정도로 생존율이 높은 이능생존체 후보자' 들이었다. 페일젠이 파기한 극비 자료를 입수해 이 사실을 알게 된 워컴은 이들을 한 부대에 몰아넣고 이들이 과연 죽나 안 죽나 실험을 하고 있던 것이었다. 워컴은 계속된 실험과 페일젠을 고문해서 얻은 정보를 바탕으로 그들이 이능생존체라고 확신하고 정말로 생존 가능성이 없는 무모한 작전에 그들을 투입한다. 하지만 바코프 분대는 자신들이 불사의 이능생존체라는 확신을 가지고 두려움 없이 작전에 뛰어들고 키리코는 자신과 같은 능력을 가진 친구들이 더 있다는 사실에 내심 기뻐한다. 하지만...

However, on the eve of a truce, the actual flag captured in the photo is stolen and war once again threatens to plague the land. After armored trooper pilot Chirico Cuvie is given orders to transfer to Planet Odon, he and all of the other new recruits are sent into a simulated battle to test their abilities. To counter Earth's Combat Armors, they have a lone Combat Armor of their own: Dougram, a CA specially built for Deloyer's environment — and piloted by Crinn Cashim, the rebellious son of the leader of the Earth government on Deloyer. This compilation film version presents the events of the 75 episode anime series as a documentary, primarily focusing on the story's politics rather than the main characters.
