이 섬세한 성장드라마는 결코 명확한 결론이나 확신을 제시하지 않은 채, 은퇴의 기로에 선 나디아가 파티에서 술에 취하고, 노래방에서 왁자지껄 어울리고, 올림픽 선수촌에 배포된 콘돔을 사용하고, 목적없이 도쿄 시내 길거리를 배회하는 내내 관조적인 자세를 유지한다. 수영 선수로서의 자아를 상실한 나디아에게 마침내 찾아온 자유는 달갑지만 않을 것이고, 감독은 애써 그녀에게 답변을 강요하지 않는다. 물을 떠나 뭍에 오른 나디아는 과연 날개를 펼치고 날아오를 수 있을까?
