One day, the man learns that his daughter is kidnapped. Daiyamondo Dasuto A cold wave hits Tokyo. Two men, working for the same company, are unable to avoid overtime work that night. The snow storm then causes electrical outages. The two men must face difficult life or death decisions.

A collection of five short stories by Hoshi Shinichi

Sci-fi writer Sakutaro (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi) and bank employee Setsuko (Yuko Takeuchi) met at as high school freshmen during their summer vacation. Since that time, the couple has always been together and eventually married.One day, Setsuko complains of a stomach ache and is hospitalized. Sakutaro then learns that his wife has colon cancer. Sakutaro takes the advice from his doctor that laughter helps the immune system and proceeds to write a short story for his wife every day. At first, Setsuko was expected to live for only 1 more year, but she lived for 5 more years and Sakutaro eventually wrote 1,778 short stories for his wife.

However, what awakens within him turns out to be far from what he expects. ***Virtual Memory A women is understress at her job and goes to a store that offers her a machine that allows her to live other peoples memories. What happens when she starts selling hers? ***Funsadan Kyouiku A new teacher finds that her pay is based off her popularity with the students, so she starts to create problems for herself to solve. ***Gozen 2-ji no Chime A writer gets a call at his front gate every day at 2 am, but no one believes him. And then a murder happens and none of the cameras pick the criminal up. ***Kaisou Densha An old man revisiting memories on the subway.

The movie is part of the Kindaichi TV movie series. Kindaichi is played by actor Goro Inagaki. The character's grandfather began with the written word. Kousuke Kindaichi started life in the novels of Seishi Yokomizo, written and set in post-war Japan. Inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie, Kindaichi is still very much a unique character, giving the Japanese their very own literary hero-detective. Young Hajime Kindaichi is a young man with bad dandruff and worse dress-sense (decades before Columbo), who wears a trademark, scruffy sunhat. He also happens to be better than the police at deductive reasoning. Having gained publicity for solving a high-profile murder case, the detectives allow him to work with them again. This story is slimmer than the twisty plots of Inugami and Village, but is graced by the presence of Chiaki Kuriyama (Battle Royale, Kill Bill Vol. 1, The Great Yokai War) in the title role.

‘미타니 코키’표 시나리오와 신인 감독 호시 마모루의 연출이 만난 독특한 코미디. 미타니 코키의 희곡이 늘 그러하였듯이, 이번에도 하나의 공간에서 대부분의 이야기가 펼쳐진다. 말하자면, 하나의 공간은 미타니 코키가 좋아하는 무대이지만, 호시 마모루가 그 폐쇄적인 공간에서 이야기를 얼마나 능수능란하게 풀어나갈 것인가 하는 것이 관건인 셈이다. 2차 세계대전이 한창이던 1940년의 도쿄. 전시 상황이라는 이유 때문에 당국은 모든 코미디극을 가급적 억제 시키거나 검열을 강화하고 있었다. ‘웃음의 대학’이라는 극단의 희곡작가 츠바키 하지메는 새 희곡을 들고 공연허가를 얻기 위해 검열관을 찾는다. 완고한 검열관 사키사카 무츠오는 무조건 퇴짜를 놓다가, 점차 하지메의 열정에 감복하고 코미디 극의 매력에 빠져들게 된다. 그리고 서로를 완전히 이해하게 된 마지막 순간 두 사람은 예기치 못한 이별을 하게 된다. 어느 여름날... 사상 최대의 폭우로 인해 기차 역 대합실에 7명의 남녀가 발이 묶인다. 모두들 어쩔 줄 모르며 비가 그치기만을 기다리고 있는데...한 청년이 역 안의 어색한 분위기를 바꿔 보려 뜬금 없이 이야기를 시작한다. 사고로 조난 당한 두 사람에게 벌어지는 오싹하고도 무서운 이야기를 들려주기 시작한 그 청년은 이야기의 끝을 매듭짓지 못해 당황하게 되는데 순간, 이를 지켜보던 선글라스를 쓴 기묘한 분위기의 한 신사가 말을 시작한다.“그 이야기는 그것으로 끝이 아니다! 이제, 그것보다 섬뜩하고 무서운 얘기를 들려주겠다!” 그 기묘한 신사의 끔찍한 이야기가 끝나고 역 안은 약간 공포스러운 분위기가 감돈다. 그런 중, 회사원으로 보이는 한 남자가 바삐 어딘가로 전화해 집에 갈 방안을 모색하고 이를 보고 있던 선글라스의 남자는 미소를 지으며 다음 이야기를 던진다. “어느 날, 이집트 피라미드에선 수 천년이 지난 핸드폰이 하나 발견되었다. 학자들과 연구자들은 그 핸드폰을 조사했지만, 답은 나오지 않았고 단지, 그 핸드폰을 클레오파트라가 사용했다는 소문만 무성하게 되었다. 세상에는 이보다 더 황당하고 재미있는 이야기가 많다. 그 중 정말 재미있는 이야기는...“ 너무나도 재미있는 두 번째 얘기가 끝나자 역에 남아있던 사람들은 서서히 선글라스를 쓴 남자 주변으로 모여들어 그를 주목하며 다음 얘기를 기다린다. 자신 앞에 모인 사람들 중 한 쌍의 연인을 주시하던 썬글라스 남자는 마침내 입을 연다. “사랑하는 여인의 죽음 앞에서 시간을 되돌리려는 남자 이야기를 들어본 적 있을 것이다. 세상에는 그것보다 환상적이고 아름다운 로맨스가 많이 존재한다. 그 중 가장 애절하고 아름다운 로맨스를 지금부터 얘기하겠다.“ 역 앞엔 비가 더욱더 쏟아지고 사람들은 모두 선글라스의 남자 앞에 모여 집에 갈 생각도 잊은 채 그의 말에 귀를 기울이는데...
