어릴 적 "2001 스페이스 오디세이"를 보고 SF 장르에 흠뻑 빠진 팻. 없는 돈을 끌어 모아 남동생과 여동생까지 총 동원하며 세기의 위대한 대작을 만들 꿈에 부풀어 있지만 그의 노력을 알아봐주는 사람은 그리 많지 않다. 아빠와 이혼한 엄마는 홀로 삼남매를 키워야 하는 삶의 무게에 짓눌려 있고, 친구들은 B급 장르영화만 읊어대는 팻을 전혀 이해하지 못한다. 그러던 어느 날, "스타워즈"가 개봉한다는 소식을 듣게 된 팻. 세기의 역작이 탄생했다 생각하곤 개봉일에 영화를 보러 가지만 그가 사는 워즈워스에서는 "스타워즈"가 어떤 영화인지 아는 사람조차 드물다.

This film is about the filmmaker's father who suffered an accident rendering him paralyzed from the neck down. The film uses original hospital footage to describe the time he chose to disconnect his ventilator and life support and show how his family and friends rallied around him as he made this decision.

The film is about the difficult situation in which the Pakistanis in particular and the Muslims in general are caught up since 9/11. There is a war going on between the Fundamentalists and the Liberal Muslims. This situation is creating a drift not only between the Western world and the Muslims, but also within the Muslims. The educated and modern Muslims are in a difficult situation because of their approach towards life and their western attire. They are criticized and harassed by the fundamentalists and on the other hand the Western world sees them as potential suspects of terrorism just because of their Muslim names.

Perhaps less morbid and disturbing to watch now than during Bush's presidency, the film doesn't address Bush's policies at all, instead focusing on the way a nation assigns blame in a time of crisis.

The story of a young immigrant from India (Dasu) who overstays his US visa. As he is forced to make decisions about whom to trust, he naively relies on his new found friends in his land of dreams, and a comical and poignant sequence of adventures ensue.
