늦은 밤, 매력적인 손님 ‘페니’를 태운 ‘해리스’. 하지만 목적지가 얼마 남지 않은 상황에서 갑작스레 불이 꺼지고 ‘페니는’ 연기처럼 사라져버리고 만다. 당황한 ‘해리스’가 미터기를 재설정하자 다시 처음으로 돌아간 택시. 이번에도 ‘해리스’는 그녀를 태우지만 역시나 사고가 난다. 하지만 한 가지 다른 점이 있다면 그가 무의식적으로 ‘페니’의 이름을 부른 것. 그러자 ‘페니’는 이번에는 자신을 기억해달라며 다시 사라지는데…
