호주의 한 습지에서 여행 가이드를 하는 케이디는 작은배에 9명의 관광객들을 태우고 악어 서식지로 향한다. 하지만 투어가 거의 끝나갈때즘 상류쪽에서 조명탄이 터지는것을 보고 관광객들을 설득하여 상류쪽으로 이동한다. 성스러운 곳이라고 불리는 상류쪽에 도착한 케이디와 관광객들은 물에 가라 앉은 보트를 발견하게되고 뭔가 낌새가 좋지않은것을 눈치챈 케이디는 서둘러 돌아가려고 하지만 물속에서 무엇인가가 보트에 심하게 부딪힌다. 그때문에 갑작스럽게 30평 남짓한 작은 섬에 고립되게 되고 설상가상으로 시간이 지남에 따라 밀물로 서서히 물이 올라오기 시작한다. 구조 요청을 할수도 없고 바로 눈앞에 있는 땅으로 가기엔 물속의 악어가 두려운 상태에서 날이 서서시 저물기 시작하는데...

When a 747 crashes shortly after take-off, the sole survivor is the pilot. Virtually unhurt, he and the investigators look for the answers to the disaster.
