Astaman (also known as Tirtosari; 1903–1980) was an Indonesian actor active from the 1910s until the mid-1970s. He was a leading actor in the influential theatre company Dardanella and, after entering the film industry with 1940s Kartinah, acted in 43 films.
After Ina’s boyfriend leaves her, she gets married but the marriage is short-lived when he is killed in an accident. Ina gets acquainted with Hari who claims to be a businessman but is actually a fugitive. Ina is seduced and agrees to marry Hari. He spends Ina’s wealth to finance his gang of criminals. Ina is clueless and she even borrows money and jewelry from her friends to support Hari’s ailing business. Being a police target, Hari feels threatened and flees. Ina realizes she has been manipulated and is thrown to jail because she cannot pay up her debts. In jail, she bumps into Hari. The police are using Hari to expose the crime of his fellow gang members. He is collaborating to minimize his punishment and to free his wife from any charges.

After the graduation from “Sekolah Kepandaian Putri” (Female-Skill School) or SKP, Lena works as a housemaid for Toto’s family as she cannot afford to continue her education. Pardan is also living in the same house. When she returns from “tetirah” (a Javanese term for a short vacation in a health resort), Mrs. Toto is agitated by the presence of the new housemaid from SKP. Toto calms her down by making up a story that Lena is actually the fiancée of Pardan. But the pretence becomes real love and Pardan and Lena finally get married.
While it is uncertain, the film is believed to be inspired by the story of Nyai Dasima, about the terrible fate of a rich widow who ends up as a murder victim because of her wealth.
A hero of revolution returns to civilian life to find the new society very different from the ideals he fought for.
Story

Then Tarmina marries a third time with a restaurant owner, but not long after, she divorces again. When Hadi is released from jail, he returns to a happy life with his daughter. In desperation, Tarmina tries to return to them. But she realizes that she has committed so many wrongs to her husband and child. Instead, she ends her life by plunging into the river.

Hardjono gives a handkerchief to his girlfriend, Karnasih, as a token of love. During their holiday together, Karnasih experiences an accident and becomes blind. Hardjono then goes abroad to study eye medicine. Upon his return, he conducts a surgery on his girlfriend's eyes and succeeds.
Sontjo
Anang, Saman and Ahmad are three best friends from a village in Subang. Anang and Ahmad fall in love with Saman's sister, Hasanah. When the call for enrollment in Heiho (army troops formed by Japanese) is announced, Anang and Saman register themselves but Ahmad does not. Anang is accepted as a soldier. When the village people welcome the Heiho, Ahmad commits theft. Hasanah's heart leans more and more towards Anang, and she yearns for his return.
Three sisters live above the cloud, Ratna, Laila, and Kumala. Ratna and Kumala are in dispute after they fall in love with the same man, Sultan Darsyah Alam. Kumala is turned down by Darsyah and in anger, she orders the destruction of his kingdom. Laila overhears this scheme and informs Ratna about it. Ratna then asks Bathara Guru for advice and is told that this is a trial for Darsyah who is destined to be together with her. Darsyah owns a powerful ring that is also named Ratna hence this disaster can be averted.
Two brothers, Jaya and I Pageh, are commoners who love Gusti Ayu Pandansari, the daughter of the King of Tabanan Bali. Since young, Pandansari was close to Jaya and Pageh, and romance grows in a triangular relationship. The only constraint is the social hierarchy or caste. Although Pandasari prefers Jaya, she finally marries Pageh instead, since she is led to believe that Jaya has died in exile.
Parlan
Elang Darat, who leads a gang of robbers continuously harasses the village of Kresek. To overcome the security threat, the head of the village calls for assistance from a detective, R. Parlan. During a raid, Parlan is injured, and is nursed by Rukmini, the village head’s daughter. Their closeness prompts jealousy in Gunawi, the adopted son of the village-head. Later, it is revealed that Gunawi is the son of R. Bardan, Parlan’s father. Parlan then must face Gunawi because he is actually the one that people call Elang Darat.

Titi loses her mind after her beloved child passed away. His husband, Suria is in love with Kartinah, the nurse. But he does not want to have two wives.
