They will find out that the only way to be safe is to solve a disturbing mistery that involves all of them: finding out who in the past, has committed a terrible crime. Amid shocking and unexpected revelations, they will come to doubt each other.

Leonardo is still single and immature as ever at 50. Tired to see him like that, his daughter texts all his exes "I'm a changed man: let's try again", setting in motion an unexpected trip down memory lane.

2차 세계 대전이 일어나기 전에 이탈리아 플로렌스 지방으로 여행 온 영국 귀족 여인들인 매리(Mary: 조안 플로라이트 분), 헤스터(Hester: 매기 스미스 분), 아라벨라(Arabella: 주디 덴치 분)는 문화와 예술을 접하며 즐거운 나날을 보낸다. 또한 부호의 집에 초대를 받은 그들은 그 곳에서 루카(Luca: 찰리 루카스 분)라는 어린 소년을 만나게 되고, 우연찮은 기회로 매리가 루카를 돌보게 된다. 그러던 어느 날, 미술 분야에 매우 깊은 관심을 지니고 있는 쾌활한 미국인 여성 엘자(Elsa: 쉐어 분)가 그곳을 방문하게 되고. 그녀는 어린 루카에게 피카소의 작품들을 보여주며 넓은 예술적 견해를 들려주게 된다. 한편 매리와 헤스터, 아라벨라와 엘자는 권력가인 무솔리니(Mussolini: 클로디오 스페이다로 분)와 만나게 되고 그들은 함께 이탈리아의 예술과 문화에 대한 대화를 나눈다. 그러나 곧 2차 세계 대전이 일어나고 루카는 국제 기숙사 학교로 보내져 영국인의 영향을 받고 그들처럼 자라게 된다. 어느덧 시간은 흘러 1940년이 되고, 멋진 소년으로 자라난 루카(Luca: 베어드 월런스 분)가 고향으로 돌아온다. 루카는 어린 시절 자신의 예술적 성향에 영향을 주었던 엘자를 다시 재회하게 되는데...
