Two young men are recruited into the Japanese air force just before outbreak of WW2 by the test pilot of Japans new super fighter - the Zero. The movie is told in reverse from the point of one of the young men who don't qualify for the pilot training and instead joins the ground crew. It chronicles the entire history of the famous fighter from the first prototype test flights all through the war.

Rennyo was the key figure responsible for the restoration of Shin Buddhism in Japan, in particular the Honganji lineage that had a slump in its fortunes during the Middle Ages. According to the legend, his motivation was a pivotal childhood incident at the age of six when his mother summoned him and told him about his destiny to revive the fortunes of the Honganji school to which he was the next in line. She then mysteriously disappeared from the temple. Taking her words to heart, from a background of great poverty and hardship, at the age of 16 he set out to spread the word across the land.

Set in Japan's Tenpyou era (729-749 CE), four young monks are sent to China to study Buddhism and bring a high priest back to Japan with them. The film tells the tale of the four monks' youth and the life and times of the high priest Ganjin.

오키나와의 아즈미 공주는 도시가 거대 괴수에 의해 멸망하는 끔찍한 환상을 목격한다. 한편, 동굴 탐험가인 시미즈 마사히코에 의해 알 수 없는 금속이 발견되고, 금속은 미야지마 교수에게 인계되어 조사된다. 한편 마사히코의 동생인 시미즈 케이스케가 이끄는 발굴단은 '검은 구름이 산 위에 나타나 세상을 멸망시킨다.'는 불길한 예언이 그려진 방과 벽화가 우연히 발견하고, 케이스케는 고고학자인 사이고 카네시로와 함께 예언서를 번역한 결과, 예언서의 내용과 동굴에서 발견된 조각상은 오키나와에 존재했던 전설의 괴물, 킹 시사와 관련되어 있던 것이 확인된다. 그때 갑자기 괴한이 카네시로의 집에 침입하여 킹 시사의 조각상을 탈취하려 하지만 시미즈 마사히코와 격투를 벌인 끝에 조각상 탈취를 실패하고 결국 도주한다. 머지않아 검은 구름이 산처럼 형성되고, 고지라가 후지산에 등장하면서 날뛰기 시작한다[스포일러]. 갑자기 안기라스가 등장하면서 고지라의 팔을 할퀴자, 고지라의 상처에서 금속이 살짝 드러난다. 그러자 고지라는 안기라스의 턱을 찢어서 안기라스를 제압하고, 싸움에서 진 안기라스는 결국 도망친다.

1873년 메이지 시대의 일본. 시마네현 코이치 마을이라는 시골 마을의 교사가 된 남편 고와 함께 어린 아들 시로를 데리고 가던 카시마 사요는 3명의 남자들과 1명의 여자에게 공격당해 남편과 아들은 잔인하게 살해당하고 자신은 처참하게 윤간, 폭행을 당한다. 자신을 끌고 갔던 쇼케이 도쿠이치를 죽이고 나머지를 찾아 다니다가 붙잡혀 살인 혐의로 수감된 그녀는 남은 자들에게 복수하기 위해, 그리고 그 복수를 실현시켜줄 아이를 낳기 위해 닥치는 대로 간수들을 유혹하여 관계를 가진다. 그 결과 유키(雪)라는 딸을 낳은 그녀는 난산으로 인해 죽게 된다. 복수를 위해 아이를 키워달라는 사요의 유언을 기억하던 감방 동기들 중 하나이며 아이를 받아주었던 미카즈키 오토라에 의해 유키는 무사출신의 승려인 도카이(道海)로부터 검술을 배우고 20세가 되었을 때에 복수의 화신으로 어머니의 원수들을 하나하나 처리하기 시작한다. 코이치 마을 출신인 거지집단의 두목 마츠에몬의 도움을 받아 나머지 세 명의 행방을 수소문하게 된다

죽은 아버지가 남기고 간 빚을 갚기 위해 공장에서 일하는 16살 소녀. 수시로 돈을 요구하는 엄마의 등쌀에 소녀는 바 호스티스가 되어 보지 않겠느냐는 친구의 제안을 받아들이기로 결심하고 전화번호부에서 친구의 이름을 찾는다. 그때 그녀에게 다가와 말을 거는 젊은 불량배. 소녀는 그와 함께 차를 마시고 영화를 보며 그녀의 인생에서 처음으로 자신에게 친절하게 대해 주는 사람을 만난 기쁨을 누린다. 하지만 그는 여성들을 강간하고 팔아 넘기는 야쿠자의 하수인일 뿐이다.
