Every neighborhood has a Karen, and Amityville is no exception. When stealing a cursed bottle of wine from a struggling local brewery, Karen soon finds that the price to pay is far more dangerous than your average hangover. Everyone in her path becomes prey, and not even a manager can be called in to stop her.

분쟁의 영향을 받는 카야주에서 여성들의 삶은 안전하지 않다. 감독의 데뷔작인 이 단편 다큐멘터리는 미얀마 여성에 대한 폭력을 폭로하기 위하여 감독 자신의 트라우마, 그리고 같은 마을에 사는 한 여성의 트라우마를 탐구한다.
(2021년 제23회 서울국제여성영화제) 감독은 내전 상태의 미얀마 카야주 출신이다. 여성들에게는 반군도 정부군도 폭력과 공포의 대상일 뿐이다. 감독은 영화 제작 워크숍을 만난 후 이 마을을 떠나 도시로 간 첫 번째 여성이 되었다. 그것이 “호랑이에서 도망가 굶주린 사자 앞에 당도”하는 것일지라도. 황폐한 풍경과 동화된 듯, 이질적인 듯, 인물들이 서 있다. 영화는 인물들의 작은 몸짓과 움직임, 표정에 주목한다.
