Bruce Brown, king of surfing documentaries, returns after nearly thirty years to trace the steps of two young surfers to top surfing spots around the world. Along the way we see many of the people and locales Bruce visited during the filming of Endless Summer (1966).

Chicago policeman Terry McCain is determined to put away mobster Sal DiMarco, who always gets acquitted on technicalities. While monitoring a drug sale, a shootout ensues, and one of Terry's fellow officers gets away with $3 million of Sal's money. Suspecting Terry took the cash, the mobster sends his men to kill Terry's brother, Dylan, and partner, Frankie Hawkins. Furious, Terry sets out to take his revenge by any means necessary.

전직 프로 레슬러인 숀은 매니저이자 생명의 은인인 버트의 청을 못이겨 마음에는 내키지도 않는 경호원으로 취직한다. 주인은 미사일을 격추시키는 피스파인더의 칩을 개발하여 부자가 된 메이슨이었는데 그에게는 엄마없이 자란 장난꾸러기 남매 알렉스와 케이트가 있다. 유모가 들어오면 이들의 짖궂은 장난에 며칠을 못견디고 나가버리자 메이슨은 숀에게 아이들을 맡기로 한다. 숀 역시 아이들 장난에 여러번 혼이 나지만 인내와 끈기로 점차 아이들과 가까워진다. 한편 악당 두목 타나토스는 칩을 뺏기 위해 메이슨을 위협한다. 메이슨이 거절하자 타나토스는 아이들까지 잡아 놓고 협박한다. 숀은 버트와 함께 악당들 소굴에 들어가게 되는데...
