John Ernst Steinbeck, Jr. (February 27, 1902 – December 20, 1968) was an American writer. He is widely known for the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Grapes of Wrath (1939) and East of Eden (1952) and the novella Of Mice and Men (1937). Author of twenty-seven books, including sixteen novels, six non-fiction books and five collections of short stories, Steinbeck received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962.

Americans are at loggerheads over the odyssey of the Joad family, tenant farmers from Oklahoma who, like thousands of others, were driven from their land during the Great Depression. Eighty years have passed since the famous work was published, and 90 years since the beginning of the Great Depression in 1929. To mark this occasion, the documentary examines the genesis of the novel, its themes, its renewed reception during the financial crisis of 2008.

Two best friends Kisan and Baloo have their dream of a house, a piece of land. A farm and a happy life. Baloo is a slow learner and is dependant on Kisan. His basic issue is to always touch soft things like velvet, silky hair and finally they die of his uncontrolled energy, which is unintentional. Kisan is an intelligent man and he takes care of Baloo like a mother. He cannot bear or see anybody harming Baloo. The story predicts their journey of both of them encountering incidences in their lives and how does everything get devastated, consequently.
